Line 6 Edit is free Windows and Macintosh OS X software from Line 6 that provides complete editor/librarian features for PODxt, PODxt Pro, Vetta II, HD 147, Flextone III and POD 2.0. It can be run on its own and in tandem with ToneTransfer / Custom Tone to transfer Tones directly from the online library to your connected Line 6 product and Line 6 Edit.

Line 6, inventors of digital modelling amps and guitars, announced today new Editor/Librarian software for Line 6 Products. Editor/ Librarian software for PODxt, PODxt Pro, Vetta II, HD147, Flextone III and POD 2.0 has existed as beta online for some time, but now, we are pleased to announce the official Line 6 Edit.

Line 6 Edit is free software available from www.line6.com where full download instructions are given. It combines a graphic Editor for Line 6 products, a Tone Locker for memory backup and file management, and an online Tone Library. It works with PODxt, PODxt Pro, Vetta II, HD147, Flextone III and POD 2.0 via MIDI or USB.

Tones can be shared with Line 6 users from around the world, to constantly expand the sonic flexibility of Line 6 products. The onscreen Editor can be used to tweak every parameter of your sounds. Line 6 has made a unique investment by professionally programming thousands of Tones matched to the signature sounds of some of the greatest guitarists, bands, songs and guitar gear of all time. Tones can also be cross platformed between selected Line 6 products, so, for instance, a Flextone III will be able to load a PODxt sound. PODxt and PODxt Pro are able to connect directly via USB, without MIDI cables.

It can be run on its own and in tandem with ToneTransfer to transfer Tones directly from the online library to your connected Line 6 product and Line 6 Edit.

MIDI Makes it go. Vetta II, HD 147, Flextone III and POD 2.0 users will need a MIDI interface and cables to use Line 6 Edit as well as ToneTransfer. If you've got a PODxt family product, you can use a MIDI interface and cables OR install the latest USB driver software and then use only a USB cable for communications. Follow the steps below to get your hardware ready, get Line 6 Edit installed, and use it as part of ToneTransfer.

No MIDI, or Mac OS 9? If you don't have Windows or Macintosh OS X, or you don't have a MIDI interface or PODxt product, you won't be able to use Line 6 Edit, and you won't be able to transfer Tones directly from the online Tone library to your Line 6 hardware. You can still access the Tone Library by clicking your product's picture above, and then use the "Tone File" and "SysEx File" links in Tone listings to download Tone Files (for later transfer to your Line 6 hardware using Line 6 Edit) or MIDI System Exclusive Files (for transfer to your Line 6 hardware using other MIDI software).
